2023 Mt. Hood Jazz Festival - a look back
This once very popular summer outdoor jazz festival
has returned to the Mt. Hood Community College campus
in Gresham, and has moved to spring, mostly indoors.
MHCC Director of Jazz Studies, Dan Davey,
produced a student-band-centered festival
with many fine professional performances throughout 3 days.
Headliners were the Bill Charlap trio,
Cuban-American drummer Ignacio Berroa,
and New York trombonist Michael Dease.
Many of Portland's fine musicians performed as well.
We'll feature music associated with this festival today;
dates for next year's festival are May 3-4-5, 2024.
