Tonight's edition of Talking Earth, hosted by dan raphael, features local writers Kelly Lenox, Daneen Bergland and Michael Keefe. 
Kelly Lenox writes poetry and prose from her home in Milwaukie, Oregon. Her first poetry collection is The Brightest Rock (2017). Kelly also writes a publication called Mama Ephemera’s Muddy Feet—brief, lyrical essays that she publishes each month on Substack (kellylenox.substack.com). Her work has appeared in Poetry Daily, Black Warrior Review, Timberline Review, and elsewhere in the US and Europe. In her day job, Kelly is a science news editor for Environmental Health Perspectives.
.Daneen Bergland is reading from her first book of poems, The Goodbye Kit, which will be released in September from Airlie Press. She's been a recipient of a poetry fellowship from Oregon Literary Arts, and her writing has appeared in several journals and books, including Propeller Magazine, The Cincinnati Review, Tahoma Literary Review, Denver Quarterly, and Alive at the Center, She teaches at Portland State University. Daneen can be heard live Sunday, September 15 at 5 p.m. at Rose City Book Pub, and October 8, with Irene Cooper, at Broadway Books
Michael Keefe is the author of the novel All Her Loved Ones, Encoded (Running Wild Press, 2024) and the forthcoming collection Western Terminus: Stories and a Novella (Cornerstone Press, 2025). He is the Events Coordinator and Publicist at Annie Bloom's Books, an independent bookstore in Portland, Oregon, where he lives with his wife, the author Liz Prato, and their two cats. michaelkeefeauthor.wordpress.com.
