Poets Judith Barrington and Janice Gould read their poems and talk with host Barbara LaMorticella about their journey into their authentic lives and voices on Monday night December 19 from 10-11 PM. Judith is a poet, memoirist and teacher who was born in Brighton England and moved to the U.S. in 1976, where she settled in Portland, Oregon. With her partner, Ruth Gundle, she has been a pillar of the women’s writing committee in the Northwest and across the nation. Janice Gould is a poet and teacher of Maidu/Konkow descent. Her third collection of poems, Doubters and Dreamers, published in 2011 by the University of Arizona Press, explores what it means to be a mixed blood Native American who grew up urban, lesbian, and middle class in America, and traces her growing consciousness of an ancestral and familial past.
