Job Title: Archival Asset Manager
Reports to: Program Director/Development Director
Employment Status: Contract Position
Hours: 25 hours a week, through December, 2017
Salary: $17/hour, no benefits
General Description
Work with physical & digital assets of the KBOO Archive to prepare for use in celebrating KBOO’s 50th anniversary, which starts in January 2018.
Essential Functions
- Organize visual representation of KBOO’s assets for selection
- Prepare assets for inclusion in the exhibit, the exhibit catalogue, the website, and other platforms as needed
- Tag metadata for digitized items
- Primarily audio, some visual assets
- Track materials as they go through the digitization process
- Work closely with KBOO staff on prioritizing assets for digitization
- Work closely with KBOO staff on planning and following the project budget
- Act as the primary point person between
- exhibit designers and KBOO
- catalog designer and KBOO
- printers and KBOO
- Support KBOO staff on promotion of the 50th Anniversary
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Prior experience with audiovisual analog materials required
- Prior experience with digital preservation required
- High attention to detail
- Excellent research skills
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with staff
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to work with a wide variety of people in multicultural, cooperative, respectful, racial justice and anti-oppressions organization
Working Conditions
KBOO has a small paid staff and about 500 volunteers.. The atmosphere can be hectic and stimulating. The ability to work in this kind of environment is essential.
