On this episode of the Gap, Tammy and Althea speak with Mina Meman, FEMA’s COVID-19 & Oregon Wildfire Outreach Program (COWOP) Manager, about distributing FEMA COVID and wildfire aid to underserved communities. The program was created in response to the pandemic and wildfires and the impact that they’ve had on Oregonians. COWOP has a dedicated team of specialists armed with over 2,400 local resources, and ready to help anyone in Oregon get what they need. They aim to connect with underserved populations who are most at-risk, including people of color, seniors, veterans, immigrants/refugees, tribal communities, and individuals in rural and frontier counties. COWOP is unique in providing continuity of care and follow up to ensure that all resource referrals are current, funded, and tailored to each community member.
Then, we're asking our listeners the question, which generation do you most identify with and why? The slide whistle in the midway song only slightly derails things.
