For the final installment of KBOO's Women's History Month Series we'll hear excerpts from the KBOO archive.
The first piece: From Turban to Hijab: Voices of Women with Headcoverings (2008)
Listen to a montage of the voices and music of three Oregon women who wear headcoverings. Hear them talk about why they wear them, there spiritual meaning and even the role that fashion plays in there selection.
The second half hour will be a rebroadcast of a 2018 Women's Day special produced by Transpositive - A current KBOO Public Affairs Program, on every 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 6 to 7 pm. The special titled, "What is Trans Feminism?" looks at the intersection between gender identity and feminism. And how women across the spectrum can support each other.
