Jessie Owens is a dance artist, choreographer, structural integration practitioner and an embodiment practitioner. She recently graduated from the Goddard College Graduate Institute in the healing arts & embodiment studies program, where she wrote a brilliant thesis entitled The Adaptable Body: Increasing the Body's Capacity for Living Through Interceptive Awareness, Effort and Challenging the Status Quo, which is the subject of our conversation, in which we talk about the power of movement and dance to open new portals of possibility in the way we experience and relate to the world around us and ourselves in each new moment, infusing our lives with a new richness and joy that can be hard to find in our stressful achievement oriented world.
