Dr. Nichols was the first African-American Center chief at the National Institute of Mental Health. His tenure was 1969 until retirement in 1989. Since retirement he has been busy as a consultant, author and public speaker. Dr. Nichols is a ground-breaking clinical psychologist specializing in the philosophical aspects of cultural difference. He works with the conecpt that cultural lenses are fundamental to undoing racism. The People's Institute is a collective of anti-racist, multicultural community organizers and educators dedicated to building an anti-racist movement.
Prison Pipeline is a radio program dedicated to educating the public about the Oregon criminal justice system. Our goal is to present a unique understanding of the criminal justice system, address the root causes of crime, and challenge the status quo. We seek to promote awareness and activism in order to foster a safe, healthy, and just society.
