Please join us on Monday, July 10th at 6:30 pm for Prison Pipeline on KBOO Community Radio as we talk with Wesley Todd, who was incarcerated for attempting to smuggle drugs across an international border. He testifies to his experiences in many federal prisons he was transferred to during his tenure in prison where he witnessed adults in custody facing degrading and inhuman living conditions including multiple federal prisons in the south infested with black mold, untreated sewage, leaking roofs and corrupt officials. Then we hear an audio commentary from Bilal Muhammed incarcerated in Oklahoma on what the 4th of July means to a black man in prison living living under forced labor and plantation capitalism.
Wesley Todd has has been personally incarcerated twice within the prison system, both state and federal. During that time, he witnessed tremendous corruption from prison staff. He made it is his personal mission to expose any corruption that he came across. He also determined not to become a vicitim of it, in a culture of intimidation and abuse, as well as to help other inmates be empowered with that same knowledge. Today he is passionate about equipping people facing that environment with the tools and support that they will need to not fall prey to that toxic culture of corruption.
