Gone - But Not Forgotten
On Pastures of Plenty this week (December 27, 2023) we look back at the significant talents who passed away in the past year, and remember with fondness the
musical treasure they left us with. Starting off with Ian Tyson who passed on 12/29/2022 at the age of 89, we recall David Crosby (1/19/2023 at 81) as a member of The Byrds, who helped define Folk-Rock, as a solo artist, and as a member of Crosby, Stills & Nash. We also remember Harry Belafonte (4/25/2023 at 96), Gordon Lightfoot (5/01/2023 at 84), Robbie Robertson of The Band (8/09/2023 at 80) and Jimmy Buffett (9/01/2023 at 76). Finally, we recall Shane MacGowan of The Pogues (11/30/2023 at 65).
So tune in and check it out. (Wednesday, December 27th 5:30 am to 7:00 am on KBOO.FM and on the FM dial at 90.7). The show will be available to stream on the KBOO website after airing.
There's folk music every Monday through Friday morning from 5:30 till 7:00 on KBOO 90.7, followed by news Democracy Now. There's also folk music on KBOO Fridays from noon to 1:30 Movin' On.
