Interview with Christian Parenti

Oh how the mainstream media and the "dark, satanic" content mills love going after Anonymous...

But Anonymous is all of us and no one.

There is nothing "natural" about the drought and famine disaster unfolding ion Somalia.  And similarly there is nothing  surprising about the "heat dome" that has crouched over the nation's mid-section for the last few weeks.  It's not a heat wave and it isn't even a drought.  It's man-made desertification and it is spreading at a rate that would be alarming if the mainstream media did an honest job of reporting on the situation.  But the mainstream media is part of the same corporate architecture that is ultimately responsible.  Here's the link:  www.alternet.org/newsandviews/article/627623/

And "We’re here, we’re queer, we won’t live in fear." goes the song of courage and freedom from threat.  Tomorrow night Members of Portland’s gay community and their advocates will converge on downtown and Old Town streets  for a nighttime demonstration march in response to four recent assaults on gays in the area.  Why the late hour?  Because that’s when most of the assaults occurred.  The Oregon State Gay Pride Organization has organized the We Are Not Afraid march - set to begin at 11 p.m. -  to show support for the victims of the assaults and to encourage tolerance. The route intentionally passes bars where organizers hope to spread their message of tolerance. During the demonstration, they will pass out to both straight and gay bars posters that indicate the establishment is a place where members of the GLBTQ community can seek refuge if being harassed.

March details.  The Q Patrol, the Q Center’s Q Patrol have been out in the after hours streets for some time now.  And the Patrol will be out tomorrow night as well.  This time it’s different.  This time there are flashpoints left in the wake of the evening’s shine.

Participants are encouraged to bring picket signs and wear bright colors and flamboyant costumes.  Meet at 10:30 p.m. at CC Slaughters, 200 N.W. Third Ave.

Participants must be 21 and older.
