In The Zone…Where Power is Money and the Money is Weaponized

The second week of  'Occupy Wall Street' protest has got the OreLords shitting goldbricks – we need to believe it at any rate.  Civil disobedience is always just a kiss away on Wall Street if you look at it in a certain light.  But the last two weeks have made the Mighty White a mite white-knuckled.  As far as the financial end of things, it is really better to think of Wall Street as a foreign country.  Don’t imagine that these people care whether the rest of us sink or swim…If America self-destructs, no skin off their arses because that’s not even where the game is being played.  That which underlies the greatest hoard of material wealth the world has ever seen, that which literally underwrites The Show is nothing but a vapor trail of ones and zeros:  They are the ones and the rest of us are the zeros.

So I called up Chris Hedges because the man knows his War Zones and asked him about the violence, the police getting in touch with their inner sociopaths of Glory.  I still can’t see why, when the cops themselves are watching helplessly while the Corporados raid their already meager pay and benefits and pensions, why the officers don’t turn against their masters?
