Moving right along...Here's how the ESCO company does it: Polluting NW Portland's air since 1911...and counting. The company has "surpassed" local DEQ and EPA requirements, which says more about the flacid state of America's envirommental regulatory agencies (And Republicans want to gut regulations in the name of the Gawd-all-mighty Deficit? What regulations?) The meeting Tuesday night did little to reassure neighborhood clean air activists that the company had gone above and beyond.

Code Talkers:
And what's this about City building codes? When Occupy Portland was occupying a public park with the mewsage that part of the private sector that controls 1 percent of everything in theory - in theory - partakes of the park system. And yet here is this obscure code arcana wherein it is possible to oblige a private property owner to sign off on a permit which allows rent-paying tenants to pitch tents on the above mentioned private property. Nice, huh? Not surprising people at Street Roots and right 2 Dream know a hting or two about "making the system work for you" as contrasted to working for The System.
