NESTLE MAKES A MOVE ON OREGON WATER!
Nestle Corporation has asked the Oregon Department Fish and Wildlife to approve and agreement that would allow them to build a bottling plant in the City of Cascade Locks. They want the ODFW to allow them to take water from Oxbow Springs that will be combined with water from city wells. Oxbow Springs feeds Herman Creek a cool water refuge for endangered salmon and steelhead during the summer. Keep Nestle Out of the Gorge is a coalition of environmental and social justice groups that have come together to oppose the agreement. They are being led by the national consumer advocacy organization Food and Water Watch and Julia Degraw, local organizer, will be in the KBOO studio to talk about the proposed bottling plant and the movement to stop it.
