On tonight’s special Memorial Day show, we focus on two favorite things of our men and women in uniform, any uniform -- Sex and Cannabis. To help get things started, we invited Portland-based sex educator, storyteller, producer, and podcaster Amory Jane to talk about cannabis and how it can improve your sex life.
Amory Jane has a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, with a focus on sex therapy and gender studies. Her biggest passion is consent-based, pleasure-positive education, and she's presented workshops across the US on topics such as ethical non-monogamy, oral sex, anal play, BDSM, sex toys, and much more than we can tell you on a family-friendly website. She hosts the podcast Sex on the Brain with Amory Jane, and is Education Coordinator at She Bop in Portland.
Amory Jane also produces Whoopee! A Sex-Positive Variety Show, a monthly live stage show which features burlesque, standup comedy, fetish performance, live music, poetry, erotic short films, mini sex ed lessons, and storytelling. The next show is Sunday, June 25th at the Bossanova Ballroom.
In the second half of the show, we’ll explore the role of cannabis in American culture, particularly movies, radio, TV, and public service announcements. Including bits from Reefer Madness, Sea Hunt (starring the Dude's dad), and, of course, Cheech & Chong. If you got it, smoke it. It's legal in Oregon... at least for the time being.
