A conversation with Kathleen Bauer, Amy Van Saun, and Ivan Maluski about Lost Valley Farm

In 2017, Lost Valley Farm opened in Boardman, Oregon. Lost Valley is a massive dairy, also known as a concentrated animal feeding operation (CAFO). In the brief time it has been operating, the farm and it's owner, Greg te Velde, have had a number of legal issues and have created a threat to the water in Boardman. I talk with writer Kathleen Bauer, who has been reporting on Lost Valley for the past few months. We're also joined by Amy Van Saun, staff attorney for the Center for Food Safety, and Ivan Maluski, policy director for Friends of Family Farmers.

I'll also have our monthly garden conversation with Marisha Auerbach. We'll talk about handling the heat wave as well as tips to keep your plants in the garden watered.
