Earlier this week, a federal court ruled in favor of groups that sued to force the Environmental protection agency to protect columbia basin salmon and steelhead.

Columbia riverkeeper brought the suit along with other conservation and trade organizations. The decision affects the columbia river from the  mouth all the way upstream to grand coulee dam, in north  central washington. It also affects the lower snake river. Reporter, Daysha Eaton speaks with Miles Johnson, senior attorney with Columbia Riverkeeper to learn more.
