Steel is the material that makes infrastructure, construction and transportation possible. Without steel, we'd have no cars, bikes, buses, trains or planes to move us around. More importantly, we'd have no steel guitar. This instrument has long been synonymous with Country music. Some experts claim that this genre of music would cease to exist without steel guitar while others say that the true spirit of Country music lies deep within our hearts unrestrained by traditional thinking. So what is the answer to this question that has purplexed listeners for years? 

The KBOO Swing & Country team conducted an exhaustive investigation into this matter. Tune in Saturday August 31st 6-9 a.m. for the first of a two part series as we ask, "Can we live in a country music world without steel guitar?" The answer may surprise you.
