Now that everyone on the planet is facing the all-consuming threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, we need to seriously face not only the need to innovate our medical and social systems, but also how we make policy. If we can figure out how to swiftly limit the deadly virus’s spread, that will buffer our communities from severe economic fallout as well as medical and social catastrophe.

On this episode of Locus Focus we talk again with Eric de Place, Sightline Institute's director of the Thin Green Line, about how COVID-19 is showing us, in painful relief, the urgent need to build stronger, people- and planet-focused systems that are more resilient to this kind of onslaught. In our conversation we take on universal income, vote by mail and how to support a just transition for fossil fuel workers, while not simply bailing out the fossil fuel industry once again.
