‘People say, what is the sense of our small effort? They cannot see that we must lay one brick at a time, take one step at a time. A pebble cast into a pond causes ripples that spread in all directions. Each one of our thoughts, words and deeds is like that. No one has a right to sit down and feel hopeless. There is too much work to do.’ --Dorothy Day

April 10th was National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, designated so by the NIH and CDC. We'll hear a clip on HIV/AIDS and coronavirus from Ronald Johnson, Director of Point Source Youth, an organization working to assist efforts to end youth homelessness. Mr. Johnson has also served in numerous policy positions on HIV/AIDS issues.

We're talking next with Iden Campbell and Kieran Chase, both with Basic Rights Oregon (BRO). Iden is the Racial Justice and Trans Justice Program Director for BRO, and Kieran serves as BRO's Transgender Justice Program Manager. Iden and Kieran talk with us about BRO's programming, including BRO's new weekly Virtual Queer Town Halls, hosted at BRO's youtube page and airing live on Tuesday evenings between six and eight pm.

Finally, we'll spend some time wih Sasha Buchert, former KBOO news room volunteer and program host, and currently with Lambda Legal in DC. Sasha and I discuss: what is hope in practice?
