Bill Resnick interviews economist Yeva Nersisyan. Yeva has recently been studying and writing on the Federal multi-trillion dollar relief programs as the pandemic shut down the economy. She and many others have found that the Federal government is continuing a fifty year trend, that big business, the banks and fossil fuel industry, the private sector, and their executives and main beneficiaries, they have done really well in the pandemic in getting Federal money. As to small business and the great majority of the people, help has been erratic and small, and precariousness and fear have increased. They’ll be discussing that as well as what should and could be done, short and long term. Yeva Nersisyan is a Research Scholar at the Global Institute for Sustainable Prosperity and an Associate Professor of economics at Franklin and Marshall College.
