City Council Candidate Debate - Mingus Mapps and Chloe Eudaly

 

On Tuesday, October 13th, KBOO hosted a virtual debate between the two candidates vying for Portland City Commission Position 4. 

They are the incumbent, Chloe Eudaly, and her opponent, Mingus Mapps. 

Chloe Eudaly is the current Portland City Commissioner for Position 4.  She has worked as a small business owner and non profit administrator.  She’s also served on the Multnomah County Cultural Coalition and Portland Public Schools District Parent Involvement Committee.

Mingus Mapps is a community organizer, who has worked as a program coordinator and supervisor for the city of Portland Crime Prevention Program, he is a professor, and has a Ph.D in government from Cornell University.  

The debate was moderated by KBOO’s Annette Newell. Candidates discussed police brutality, racial justice, climate change, neighborhood associations and the implications of various campaign endorsements.
