On today’s episode of the Food Show we’ll spend the hour with Grandma’s Hands. Grandma’s Hands is working to pass on black cultural food traditions to future generations.  Each month, a group of grandparents get together to cook a massive meal, planned by one of the grandma’s. Each participating family receives a hot meal featuring produce from local Black farmers, a bag of groceries so they can prepare the featured dish on their own, a stipend, and an evening of learning and connection.

Featured on the show:

  • Vanessa Chambers, Grandma, Grandma’s Hands founder, Rockwood CDC
  • Marchane Lawson, Grandma, Grandma's Hands volunteer
  • Terry Wattley, Father, Grandma’s Hands participant
  • Chuck Smith, Grandma’s Hands Project Coordinator, Black Food Sovereignty Coalition Co-Director
