Queer culture on Out Loud

On tonight's Out Loud, we hear from Heather Perkins about Electrogals, the all women and all electronic event happening June 27th at 8pm at Disjecta, located at 8371 N. Interstate Ave in Portland.  The concert will showcase female electronic music performers from Portland and the West Coast, featuring synthesists, sonic explorers, deep listeners, circuit benders, and beat manglers. The performances will cover a wide range of styles, from beat-heavy song forms to abstract noise-generated soundscapes. Some of the performances will also include the audience, in ways that will definitely surprise and delight!

Music from Heather Perkins include samples from 'Guitar Orchestra' and 'Every Day'.

Next we talk with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence about Squirt, happening Wed June 23 at 7:30pm at She Bop. Squirt is a girl mixer & safer sex education class for queer women. Cost $10 and all proceeds from the event will go towards the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence grant fund.

The second half of tonight's show featured the latest edition of This Way Out, the international lesbian and gay radio magazine. You can download their podcasts anytime!
