A couple of songs about the troubled state of the world highlight today's Pastures of Plenty. Rodney Crowell's new release Something Has to Change (2021) and Eliza Gilkyson's Sooner or Later (2020) are calling for changes. These songs are in the middle of the show.
Of course there's lots of older music, such as Wood Guthrie's Hobo's Lullaby (1944) and Melanie 's Close to it All (1971). There's a feel good song about home grown tomatoes from Guy Clark. Spot checking the playlist, other familiar names include John Gorka, Mary Flower, Cat Stevens, Brownie McGhee, Buffy Sainte-Marie, The Be Good Tanyas, Emmylou Harris, Dave Carter & Tracy Grammer, South Africa's Miriam Makeba. and many others.
