OJRC's Criminal Legal Reform Legislation
Host Karen James speaks with Zach Winston, policy director with Oregon Justice Resource Center, about the 2022 Oregon legislative short session. Three bills that were unsuccessful in the 2021 session have been re-introduced this year by OJRC. Zach explains each bill and its impact on Adults in Custody in Oregon:
SB 1584 Oregon Justice for Exonerees Act would compensate those wrongfully convicted of a crime.
SB 1568 Compassionate Release of eligible Adults in Custody under extraordinary circumstances.
SB 4147 Restoring the Right to Vote for adults while incarcerated.
