This week on Century of Lies: Charting a New Course.
In preparation for its 2024 Mid-Term Review, the UN’s Commission on Narcotic Drugs has been conducting a stock-taking of progress made in addressing several challenges that were identified in CND’s 2019 Ministerial Declaration. These thematic discussions have consisted of two intersessional meetings, the first from October 23 to 25 and the second from December 4 to 6. Several national delegations are speaking out against the drug war and urging the CND to overhaul a failed international drug policy, steering away from prohibition and charting a new course toward harm reduction and a healthy future. On this week’s edition of Century we’ll hear from delegates representing Colombia, Czechia, and the European Union, as well as civil society representative Judy Chang, Executive Director of the International Network of People Who Use Drugs (INPUD).
