Eddie Muller is the Founder and President of The Film Noir Foundation. He's a film preservationist, a festival programmer, a San Francisco Literary Laureate, and the host of Noir Alley on the Turner Classic Movies channel. Eddie is bringing the Noir City Film Festival to Portland's Hollywood Theatre, and talks with S.W. Conser about the importance of gritty urban stories in American culture and the race to rescue overlooked films from the landfill.
We also sit down with Elliot Lavine, whose series of Saturday Morning Classics at Portland's Cinema 21 includes auteur films from the 1970's as well as a broad range of American westerns.
