President Trump announced today that he is withdrawing the United States from the Paris Climate agreement. This comes after several days of speculation on what the predictably unpredictable president would do after meeting with European leaders, who tried to pressure him into keeping the commitments made by the US during the Paris talks in 2015.
Opposition to the deal is far from unanimous even within Trump’s administration. Even Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, former CEO of Exxon-Mobil, supported the US remaining in the agreement.
