One of America's last surviving sources for bold political cartooning strikes out on its own
Based in Portland, The Nib is a publisher of political comics and graphic journalism founded in 2013 by cartoonist Matt Bors. Originally appearing on the online platform Medium, The Nib has managed to stand out from the field of webcomics publishers by paying fair-market rates for the work it commissions. Set adrift first by Medium and then by First Look Media, The Nib is now making a stab at going independent.
Founder and Editor Matt Bors joins us in the studio along with Deputy Editor Eleri Harris to size up the state of political cartooning in America and talk about The Nib's past, present, and future.
