One big winter task begins this month: fruit tree and bush pruning. Plus, caring for your garden soil in the winter

Host Glen Andresen is joined by Jim Gilbert for a pre-recorded live show, which, as always, is chalk full of gardening and plant news. Even though there are fewer chores to be done in the garden in December, there is one big one: the start of winter pruning, and we discuss tools for the task we find useful. Plus Jim gives his easy recipe for making delicious flowering quince syrup. And do you think there is nothing to do for your garden soil now. Au contraier, think again!

As always, we'll have a new Plant of the Month (fruit tree rootstock) and from The Dirtbag Dictionary, we define "soil pH."  And, of course, what's annoying Glen this month.

The Dirtbag... Listen. Laugh. Learn.
