Gambian kora master Foday Musa Suso emigrated in 1977 to Chicago, where he formed Mandingo Griot Society along with percussionists Hamid Drake and Adam Rudolph.  Over the years, Suso has recorded a wide-ranging repertoire from traditional to the avant-garde, collaborating with many highly respected artists including Herbie Hancock, Bill Laswell, Jack DeJohnette, Pharoah Sanders, Kronos Quartet, and Philip Glass.  This week's Africa O-Yé! features the music of Foday Musa Suso in it's many permutations.
