KBOO COMMUNITY CALENDAR TUESDAY November 24th 2009

This is Paula with the KBOO Community Calendar for Tuesday, November 24th 2009.

Tonight at 6 pm, head on over to the Hollywood Library, located at 4040 NE Tillamook Street in Portland for The Weaver’s View, an interactive presentation by internationally recognized weaver Pat Courtney Gold of the Wasco Tribe, in honor of American Indian Heritage Month.

Coming up on Tuesday, December 1st at 6 pm will be an opening reception for artists Michael Orwick, Valerie Sjodin and Kim Lakin at Walters Cultural Arts Center 527 E Main Street Hillsboro, OR 97124 .

 

Following the reception will be a special First Tuesday Concert in the Theatre at 7 pm. The concert will feature the Hillsboro Community Youth Choir: http://www.hillsborocommunityyouthchoir.org/index.htm .

 

On Wednesday, December 2nd at 7 pm, join the Cascade Blues Association, for its monthly general membership meeting, at the Melody Ballroom, located at 615 SE Alder Street.

 

The quartet known as Da Good Guys will perform the opening set, while Portland band Woodbrain will perform the second set. All ages are welcome.

On Tuesday, December 8th at 7 pm is the Open Poetry Reading in the Gallery at Walters Cultural Arts Center 527 E Main Street Hillsboro, OR 97124.

 

Poets and lovers of poetry alike will enjoy these evenings of readings in the gallery. Readers and listeners are welcome to enjoy works by established or yet to be discovered talent. A sign-up sheet is available, so please arrive early.
