Dennis Nyback is a film archivist, collector of ephemera and local historian.
THIS FRIDAY NIGHT beginning at MIDNIGHT : NW historian Dennis Nyback hosts The Outside World this week, & he'll be highlighting old and new music from Portland...
Dennis has a knack for uncovering gems from our local history who you probably have never heard of, but who, once upon a time, were well-known performers, songwriters, artists and innovators, not just in Oregon but across the nation. For instance, ever hear of Lee Morse? She was one of the most recorded female vocalists of the 1920s.
Anyway, here's the letter that just arrived via carrier pigeon:

Dear daniel,
The program will be old and new music from Portland.  The old will be George Olsen, Lee Morse and others. If no one knows about George and Lee they had better tune in and be both amazed and educated. Oh, depending on what I can find; Del Porter will be in the show.  The more recent will feature Dave Frishberg, Jim Goodwin and Ray Skjelbred.   The live new will be Lord Pennington and German Cash, and possibly Blood on the Banjo.
